Thoughts on Affirmations

How to decide on an affirmation?

Affirmations are a very personal thing, a good affirmation should mean something special and important to your life goals. It can be simple or complex. Nothing is set in stone on how it should be worded, however it should be positive and speak toward something you are consciously working on or toward in your life. Many sites will give examples or methods or the exact wording and affirmations themselves. I believe even just saying "Today will be better" is enough, if it holds a meaning you know and feel is enough. Search for examples to get an idea, but make it your own by putting it into your own words, your own feelings, and your own purpose and mission in life.

Miracle Morning Silence and Meditation

Silence and Meditation Ideas

Silence Ideas

1. One of my favorites is just sitting on the front porch with a cup of hot tea/coffee and listen to the stillness of the morning.

2. The winter  can make outdoor silence setting uncomfortable, but curled up on the couch or cozy chair can work just as well, let your mind empty into a silent home atmosphere for even just 3 minutes.

3. Ear plugs - for that busy household that seems to never have even 3 minutes of quiet.

Meditation Ideas

1. YouTube.com has several good guided 3 to 15 minute morning meditations.

2. Meditate on your affirmation, especially if you change it daily.

3. Meditate on gratitude for something that happened the day before.

4. Meditate on a personal trait you are trying to change or modify.

Set your Day Up for Success

Set your Day Up for Success

My Routine

Silence - Morning tea/coffee on the front porch or a short meditation session.
Affirmation- I have a monthly affirmation I reflect and repeat each morning of that month
Visualization - Tarot Reading or Vision Board
Exercise- Yoga, Walking, or Cardio
Read - Currently reading books in my Classics list, about 15 minutes a day.
Scribe - Daily journaling

Then I move on to the home morning routine with a motivated attitude,
I use a variation of the Fly Lady method of keeping my home.

1. Make the Bed
3. Start Laundry
4. Put dishes away
5. Take out trash
6. 5 minute pick-up
7. Review daily planner for overview of the day
8. Breakfast
9. Feed/Water Pets
10. Change from yoga wear to the outfit for the day

I usually finish this routine between 8 and 9 pm, sometimes earlier if I have an earlier appointment for the day.

Getting Into the Spirit of Autumn and the Holiday Season

Fall Cleaning and Organizing Websites

Holiday Grand Plan is one of three options that have been hosted by Organized Home and Organized Christmas for many years and continue to be a personal favorite for many people. https://organizedhome.com/christmas/holiday-grand-plan

House and Holidays is the one that I go to most often for my own seasonal planning. It takes a 18 week commitment much like the Holiday Grand Plan, but it helps break things down into chucks that keep the last minute regrets at bay.

The last of the three options from this host is a 6 week plan called Christmas Countdown. If you are looking for a shorter time span this may just what you are looking for.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

 Things to Do in September:

1. Start preparing for the Holiday Season. It is a good time to start planning what your ideas for the season are and breaking down tasks into manageable sections so that last minute rush is a thing of the past and the season is enjoyable instead of hectic.

2. Enjoy the Fall vegetable and flower gardens.

3. Settle into the new school year.

4. Sort through and swap summer clothes and winter clothes. It is a good time to make a want/need list and look for deals before the cold weather hits.

5. Clean out sheds and garages to make room to store the summer activity supplies. Might as well pull out that snow shovel and put it in front while you are at it.

6. Take down summer decor and replace with fall decor. A good time to note the Halloween decor items you might want to replace or purchase.

7. Start planning any home repair/renovation needed before winter.

8. Instead of a spring clean, call it a a fall clean. It is a good time to consider shampooing carpets and deep cleaning those areas that you only touch once or twice a year.

9. Backpacking/Hiking trips are good outdoor activity to enjoy in September.

10. Any plans you did not complete over the summer. Decide if they can still be accomplished this month or if they are better left for next year. Prioritize them next summer if you decide to wait to next summer.
